ABOUT THE AWARDS SHOW: If you’re a fan of music theatre, you don’t want to miss the musical theatre glitterati at the 11th Annual OVATION Awards, Sunday January 18, 2015. This community celebration features over fifty performers presenting numbers from the hit musicals presented in the Lower Mainland in 2014, while also presenting awards to people and companies that present these musicals. As well as the thrilling performances, the ultimate goal of the evening is to celebrate the hundreds of people who dedicate hours of their time working on and off stage with the numerous companies that present musicals. Musical Theatre is alive and well in here in the Lower Mainland, with 65 shows performed in 2014 including full productions, revues, and “pantos”. The Awards Show this year will be MC'd by the terrific twin duo Daniel and Timothy Johnston and will feature a cast of over 50 performers. As of January 12th, we have confirmed performances from these shows from 2014: Annie, Busy Town, Cabaret, Carrie, Crazy For You, Darling A Musical, Gay's The Word, Grease, Jesus Christ SuperStar, Legally Blonde TUTS, Little Women, Lucia, Lucky Stiff, Magic To Do, Red Rock Diner, Reefer Madness, Sail Away, Shrek the Musical (Align & TUTS), Spring Awakening, SUDS, The Drowsy Chaperone, The Last Five Years, The Marvellous Wonderettes, The Mikado, The Raymur Mothers, They're Playing Our Song, and The Vixens Of Wonderland.
